The 1st Congress of the Spanish Association for Sports Performance Analysis is driven by the increasing significance of performance analysis in today’s sports context—both in training and competition—for the optimisation of performance as well as the prevention and recovery of injuries.
With advances in technology and sports science, performance analysts must remain current and engage in continuous professional development to enhance athlete performance. Nowadays, sports performance analysis has evolved significantly thanks to the emergence of artificial intelligence, inertial technology, and predictive models. These tools have transformed the way coaches, analysts, sports scientists, and managers make decisions aimed at optimising performance, preventing injuries, and improving tactical preparation across various sporting disciplines.
However, effectively integrating these tools into clubs, federations, and high-performance centres remains a challenge. Moreover, the gap between scientific research and its practical application continues to present barriers that require dedicated spaces for dialogue and knowledge exchange.
This congress aims to bring together experts in performance analysis, coaches, researchers, and technology companies to share breakthroughs, innovative methodologies, and practical experiences.
Through keynote lectures, roundtables, and networking spaces, the congress will foster discussions on the current state and future of performance analysis and its implementation across diverse sporting contexts.
The congress will focus on the following key areas:
Professional Development and Training: Providing a platform for professionals to access the latest research, methodologies, and tools in the field of performance analysis. The integration of Big Data, artificial intelligence, inertial technology, and game modelling has revolutionised the working methods of coaches, strength and conditioning staff, and analysts.
Injury Prevention: Addressing the need for data-driven injury prevention programmes, particularly for young athletes.
Innovation and Technology: Discussing the impact of emerging technologies on performance analysis and their practical application in different sports. This growing field demands highly specialised professionals, opening up new employment opportunities.
Professional Networking: Facilitating connections among professionals, researchers, and academics, while strengthening the community around sports performance analysis in Spain. The congress aims to establish information channels between science and practice, thereby enhancing both domains. It will serve to further consolidate and promote this area of study and its associated professional environments.
